I believe that education is the key to success for students. As a
teacher, I strive to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths
and abilities, facilitating the discovery of what truly inspires them. I
aim to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages
students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence.
I am an
enthusiastic proponent of project based education. Through my teaching
experience thus far coupled with the AVID training I received, I have found the
method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of
teaching. I have learned that if students construct their own learning
experiences they will not only retain information longer, lessons will be more
meaningful, and they will become more confident in their abilities. I love
working with children and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in
their lives.
I started my career in Southern California. I
love to travel and I am currently teaching internationally in Jakarta,
Indonesia. Here I teach middle school English and Humanities. Starting in July
I will be at an American school in Sao Paulo, Brazil; again teaching middle
school Humanities.
